David Hinshaw’s television career spans over thirty-five years and includes a wide variety of production experience as well as awards, travel and great stories. He has worked as field producer and director of photography for all the major American broadcast networks. That includes most cable networks, many foreign broadcasters and production companies, plus a host of corporate and celebrity clients.
He has worked with many independent documentary makers as well as producing three of his own. His 1994 documentary, Through the Tunnel & Beyond won a Best Documentary Award from the Video Librarian and has aired in Europe, Japan and South America. It describes the work of Raymond Moody, M.D., PhD, author of the groundbreaking work on the near-death experience, Life After Life. The New York Times has called Dr. Moody the father of the near-death experience .
David’ s work has taken him to over thirty countries as well as most of the USA. In 1991, he was the photojournalist for the Sky News coverage of the siege at Waco Texas. This coverage won several European broadcast journalism awards. Recently David’s documentary, “Conversations Beyond Proof of Heaven” received 1st Runner Up COVR Award at the International New Age Trade Show.

For twenty years he has served as videographer on call for President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter.
Working out of Atlanta, Georgia, David continues to service a wide variety of clients. His recent video, Conversations with Eben Alexander & Raymond Moody, features a two-hour discussion of Dr. Alexander s near death-experience. These two medical doctors explore the meaning and existence of consciousness in powerful discussion of the life after life experience.

David earned a master’s degree from the College-Conservatory of Music University of Cincinnati; received a National Endowment for Arts grant; won three southeastern Emmys; Video Librarian Awards, 1st Runner up in the 2014 COVR Visionary Award and is the proud father of Drew, age 30, the Wall Street Journal’s West Africa correspondent, and Kate Hinshaw, age 24, a filmmaker. Drew and his wife Celeste gave birth to Jasper Francis Mason Hinshaw on March 10, 2015.
